Olu Emmanuel- faults suspension attempt
The former Chairman of the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party Deacon Segun Adewale (Aeroland), has described recent attempt to suspend him through the Alimosho local government chapter of the party as a diversionary move fuel by PDP BoT member Chief Olabode George so as to debar further enquiry about how he (BG) had allegedly trade-off the parties political fortune over the years.
Speaking at a well attended general assembly of PDP faithful which culminated in a press conference at the PDP’s secretariat located along Abeokuta Expressway, Iyana Ipaja Lagos.
Adewale said the move by Bode George was targeted at him to whittle his strength geared towards making him pay for truncating the aspiration of sincere PDP candidates in order to satiate his greed.
“BG is the person I am fighting but he is using others against me, constitutionally speaking it is my ward that can suspend me not the other way round and that even applies to BG as well.
“Given my political maturity now, all I do is for posterity’s sake, I have sued him, for using PDP to negotiate with the APC every eve of election, he will go public canvassing other members to vote for another party, how will a good leader do such?
“For more than two decades Bode George has traded the fortunes of the party with the ruling party in Lagos having appointed self as the supreme leader.”
Aeroland maintained that BG’s tactics is to use his associate against him but he remains unperturbed.
“Sadly enough, Chief Bode George has added no value to the party despite the huge benefits and colossal damage he has inflicted on the party due to his double-faced anti-party posture at every election cycle.
“For the records, let me state emphatically that I do not have any problem with Alimosho PDP. As a matter of fact, my ward has reposed confidence in me despite the shenanigans of some bad elements being used by Bode George to cause distraction.
“It’s laughable that these same elements being used by Bode George would act unconstitutionally by suspending me from the party when they do not have such powers. By the constitution of the party, I can only be suspended by my ward.
“He has never won his polling unit since he joined the party. I have not only consistently won at my polling units since I joined the party, I have equally initiated and completed several projects ranging of building boreholes, installing transformers, renovating schools, supporting traders and artisans, paying hospital bills of many party members till date.
“This is aside the billions I have spent in prosecuting my elections as a candidate of the party since 2007. Besides the financial toll, my once thriving business has taken a great hit as the ruling APC has gone on several smear campaigns to malign my business and reputation.
In an attempt to save face and tarnish my image, these charlatans and their paymaster, Bode George levelled a phony allegation of embezzling election funds against me, when in actual fact, I was not the chairman of the presidential campaign committee led by Deji Doherty. When I challenged them to provide evidence of their allegation, they could not.
“Though we are already in court to compel the party to expel Bode George for his anti party activities and the severe damage he has caused to the ambition of hardworking candidates and members of the party.
“However, we are using this medium to pass a vote of no confidence on Bode George that he is not fit to be a member of the party let alone someone that can be referred to as the supreme leader of the party in the state.”
