Ag. IGP Egbetokun promises improved synergy among security agencies

The acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, on Tuesday, paid a courtesy visit to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to consolidate on the gains recorded so far in the internal security architecture of the nation.

A press statement by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in Abuja, said the IGP was accompanied by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Adeleke Adeyinka Bode; DIG Training and Development, Bala Ciroma; Assistant Inspectors-General of Police Force Intelligence Bureau, AIG Abdulyari Lafia; the Force Secretary, AIG Habu Sani; the Director, National Cyber Crime Centre, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Uche Ifeanyi; and the Force Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

He said the acting IGP congratulated Ribadu on his well-deserved appointment, and assured that he would ensure national security stability and growth via inter-agency diplomacy and an all-inclusive safety mechanism.

The spokesperson further said that the NSA in his address, expressed pleasure at the improvement the Police boss has made towards sanitising and repositioning the policing system in Nigeria.

According to Ribadu, the IGP put the right foot forward from inception.

He, however, urged the Police boss to prioritise improved synergy with other security agencies in order to achieve the goal of the present administration, while pledging his full support for the attainment of better policing and enhanced security for all and sundry in Nigeria.
