APC adopts new method for presidential primary
APC’s National Executive Committee have adopted the direct primary method for the selection of its presidential candidate for the 2019 contest.
States are however free to choose which of the methods best suits their peculiarities.
The adoption took place on Thursday in Abuja.
States willing to use the direct primary method should write officially to the National Secretariat.
Currently, President Muhammadu Buhari is the only aspirant that has dec;ared his intention to run in 2019.
Others, including Senate President Bukola Saraki, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso, and Gov Aminu Tambuwal nursing the ambition have defected. according APC leadr Bola Tinubu, to avoid contesting the primary with Buhari.
