Army Major kidnapped in Ondo
A Major of the Nigerian Army was on Wednesday kidnapped by gunmen in Akoko, Ondo State. The senior military officer was traveling alone when he was intercepted on the road by armed men who violent took him off his course of journey.
It was said that the Major was kidnapped around Auga-Akoko while traveling without escort or any partner in his car.
The Ondo State Police Command was gathered to have confirmed the abduction and has swung into operation for the rescue of the Major, who was said to be taken to a forest around Ondo and Edo states boundary near Ibilo.
Reports indicated that before the Police from the Ondo State command got to the forest zone, the kidnappers had taken the Major to another destination.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Police was gathered to have ordered extensive manhunt for the culprits and the rescue of the Army Officer.
