Ondo: Amotekun and Police comb forests for motorcycle theft suspects
The joint security task force, comprising members of the police, Amotekun corps, and local vigilante groups, has intensified its operations in the affected areas
A joint security task force (AMOTEKUN) has launched a comprehensive operation to apprehend criminals terrorizing motorcyclists along the Arigidi-Okeagbe road and other highways in Akokoland.
The move comes in response to a series of brutal murders targeting Okada riders in recent weeks.
On Sunday, the latest victim, Ibitoye Adewale, was attacked on the Ikaram-Akunu highway.
He sustained critical injuries and was left for dead, while his motorcycle was stolen.
Thanks to the swift intervention of Amotekun security forces and local vigilante groups, one of the attackers was apprehended in the nearby forest.
The Akala of Ikaram, Oba Andrew Momodu, expressed deep concern over the escalating violence and called for increased security patrols on the highways.

He emphasized the importance of vigilance and cooperation between the security forces and the community in combating crime.
