Art amazon Bisi Silva is dead
Founder and Artistic Director Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos, Olabisi Silva is dead.
She died on Tuesday in Lagos after a protracted battle with cancer.
A statement by the Centre’s Associate Curator Iheanyi Onwuegbucha announced the death of the renowned curator who has contributed immensely to the growth of contemporary Nigerian art and the globe.
“With a deep sense of loss, we regret to announce the passing of our Founder and Artistic Director of Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos, Olabisi Silva who passed away on Tuesday 12 February 2019,” the statement said.
The renowned curator died at 57 years.
