Bandits kill over 12 persons in fresh attack on Katsina community
Bandits had killed over 12 persons in fresh attack on Gakurdi community, Jibia Local Government Area, Katsina State. The bandits, according to the locals, also several farmlands of the indigenes.
The bandits had stormed the community in the early hours of the day on motorcycles, shooting indiscriminately to scare the unarmed locals, who flee in different directions for safety.
The Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, confirming the invasion, explained that the victims include villagers who attempted to escape into their farmlands.
The PPRO disclosed that security personnel had intervened, saying that the Commissioner of, Idris Dauda Dabban, led a team of security operatives to the village for an on-the-spot assessment of the violence.
The PPRO was cited to have said: “… the incident happened. The bandits were at the village this Tuesday morning and killed 12 villagers.
“Some of those killed included those attempting to escape to their farmlands.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Idris Dauda Dabban had in response led a team of security operatives to the village this morning.”
