Bandits plant explosive on Abuja-Kaduna rail line, attack passenger train
Bandits on Wednesday night planted explosives on the Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge rail line, during an attack on a Kaduna bound passenger train from Abuja.
The attack and the explosion forced the Nigeria Railway Service to temporarily suspend train service on the Abuja-Kaduna corridor.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation had in a statement indicated that the Corporation has taken the step to safeguard the lives of passengers on that corridor.
The Corporation stated that investigations are underway.
Senator Shehu Sani, through his social media page, disclosed that the attack took place between Dutse and Rijana rail stations.
There were indications that portions of the rail line were blown off with explosives, as the windshield of the train captains were damaged.
