Bandits struck at Abuja-Kaduna train, injure many
Bandits struck at Abuja-Kaduna bound train on Monday night, injuring many passengers in the operation. The train was attacked by the bandits in Kaduna State.
Bandits kidnapped some of the passengers as many others were left injured.
The bandits were said to have attacked the train in the vicinity of Dutse in Kaduna, a few kilometres to the Rigasa Train Station in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The bandits were said to have detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to bomb the railing, compelling the train to derail. They immediately opened fire as the train came to a halt. The bandits successfully invaded the train to accomplish their operations.
Troops were later deployed to the scene for rescue operations.
Bandits had on Saturday struck at the Kaduna International Airport, obstructing operations for the period of their invasion.
