Banigo hails Gov Wike on SWAN patronship

THE deputy governor of Rivers State, Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says the investiture of Governor Nyesom Wike as the National Patron of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, by its National President, Alhaji Saidu Abubakar is a testimonial of the outstanding contributions of the governor in sport development.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Paul Damgbor described the gesture as well-deserved and a morale booster to the State Chief Executive especially as it is coming on the heels of the successful hosting of various qualifying matches played at the Adokiye Amesiemaka Stadium, Port Harcourt where Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles, has always emerged victorious over their opponents.
Dr. Banigo assured that the Wike-led government will continue to partner the federal government in promoting sports which she said, is another avenue to boost tourism and check youth restiveness. She congratulated Governor Wike for bagging the SWAN national honour, stressing that; it would engender the governor to do more.
