Brentford Boss explains Frank Onyeka’s departure
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has revealed that Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka‘s recent move to FC Augsburg was primarily due to a lack of playing time at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Onyeka, who joined Brentford three seasons ago, struggled to secure a regular starting spot in the Premier League.
Despite his contributions to the club’s success, the Nigerian midfielder was seeking more consistent playing time.
“Frank wants to play week in, week out as a starter,” Frank said.
“This is a good opportunity for him to do that.
He has been a big part of our success, and I can’t praise him enough for that in every aspect.”

Brentford’s departure of Onyeka leaves them with a thin squad, particularly in midfield.
With Toney’s move to Saudi Arabia and Thiago Rodrigues’ injury, Brentford will face challenges in their upcoming matches.
However, the club has made a promising start to the 2024-25 season, winning two of their first three games.
Brentford will have a tough test this Saturday when they face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
