Bridge under construction reportedly collapses
A portion of a suspension bridge has been caught on camera collapsing in Bihar, India while it is still under construction.
According to The National UAE, the incident that happened on May 4th, 2023 makes it the second time the bridge has collapsed & has sparked debate about corr¥ption in India.
Amit Malviya, a senior official in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, called for the resignations of officials in Bihar including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
“In 2015, Nitish Kumar inaugurated this bridge, which was to be completed by 2020.
This bridge has fallen for the second time. Will Nitish Kumar & [deputy chief minister] Tejashwi Yadav resign immediately, taking cognisance of this incident? By doing this, both the uncle & nephew can set an example in front of the country,” Malviya wrote on Twitter.
BJP politician Shehzad Jai Hind also posted the video of the bridge collapse on Twitter, blaming corr¥ption for the incident.
