Tension in Abuja over August 1 protest, Tinubu, APC Govs, hold emergency meeting at Presidential Villa
There are emerging indications of rising tension in the seat of power, the Presidential Villa, Abuja, over the August 1 nationwide protest by Nigerian youths.
President Bola Tinubu and Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which constitute the Progressives Governors Forum, are currently meeting at the Aso Rock, Abuja, for deliberations on on the nationwide protests of hardship and suffering in the Nigeria.
Former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, was sighted among the APC governors attending the emergency meeting with President Tinubu on Thursday in Abuja.

The ministers in the Federal Executive Council (FEC), including the National Security Adviser to the President, Nuhu Ribadu; and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, had earlier met on the planned protest.
The Nigerian youths are mobilizing massively to protest the hardship in the country, demanding “EndBadGovernanceInNigeria and reduction in the cost of living.
The meeting of the APC governors with President Bola Tinubu was still going on at the time of this report.
