The Speaker, Rt Hon Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku joined millions of Nigerians to celebrate the Children, as those who bear our hope for a brighter future, expressing his heartfelt appreciation for the remarkable potential children possess.
Rt Hon Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, recognising the Children’s innocence, creativity, smiles, and boundless energy, which makes them the most treasured possessions on earth, children are loved by one and all.
The Speaker stated, “Children are the pride and joy of our nation. Their well-being, education, and happiness should be at the forefront of our collective efforts. As grown-ups, we have the job of nurturing our children to be strong and independent. As parents and caregivers, we are doing the most important job here; It’s rewarding. It is also our responsibility to ensure they receive the love, care, and opportunities they deserve.”
The Speaker reiterated his commitment to advocating for policies and initiatives that prioritize the rights and welfare of children, ensuring every child has access to education, healthcare, and a bright future.
Expressing a strong conviction in the transformative power of education, He pledged to work closely with relevant stakeholders to improve educational infrastructure, enhance the quality of teaching, and provide equal opportunities for all children in Edo State; this he opined will bridge gaps in access to education, particularly for marginalised and vulnerable children.

Mr. Speaker also noted that the current government understands the important role education plays in achieving an all-round development of a child and will continue to invest massively in education, upgrading our school infrastructure and bequeathing our children with the knowledge to compete favourably in a technology-driven 21st century.
He encouraged parents and guardians to nurture a culture of love, respect, and tolerance among children: Emphasizing the need for mentorship programs and positive role models to guide children towards becoming responsible citizens.
Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku urged all parents to invest in their children, advising the children to shun social vices, including drug abuse, as this hampers growth, development, and academic achievements
