Singapore’s TSC Global, Del-York Group seal $4.5bn deal to develop Africa’s premier creative city
In a groundbreaking partnership, Singapore-based TSC Global and Nigeria’s Del-York Group have signed a historic $4.5 billion joint venture to develop Africa’s first premier creative and technological hub.
The project, Lagos Film City (Kebulania), aims to redefine Africa’s role in the global creative economy.
The signing ceremony, held in Singapore, was attended virtually by the Executive Governor of Lagos State. The initiative represents the largest single investment in Africa’s creative and technological future and is set to transform Lagos into a global creative capital.
The development of Lagos Film City (Kebulania) is scheduled to begin with architectural work in Q1 2025, followed by construction in late Q2 2025.
The ambitious project will feature: 50,000 sqm AI-enabled Hyperscale Data Center facilities; 1 GW sustainable gas-fired power generation (100 MW for data centers) 600+ petabyte data center infrastructure; 500,000 sqm of creative and innovation space, including world-class production facilities; Advanced virtual production stages, rivaling Hollywood standards; Educational and training facilities, supporting talent development; Residential, recreational areas, and theme parks.
Governor of Lagos State, speaking virtually, emphasized the project’s significance:
“Lagos Film City represents our vision for creative excellence and technological innovation. It will transform our creative landscape and create groundbreaking opportunities for our talented youth. This investment reflects Lagos State’s commitment to positioning itself as Africa’s premier creative capital.”
Michael Dickerson, CEO of TSC Global, highlighted the partnership’s global significance: “This $4.5 billion venture bridges Africa and the world, creating unparalleled opportunities for collaboration across continents. Together with Del-York Group, we are crafting a transformative model for creative industry development that will resonate globally.”
Linus Idahosa, CEO of Del-York Group, echoed this sentiment: “Today marks Africa’s entry into global creative and technological leadership. Kebulania is not just infrastructure; it’s a legacy that will empower generations of African creators and innovators.”
