Court confirms Senator Rafiu Ibrahim PDP Candidate in Kwara South
A Federal High Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, upheld Senator Rafiu Ibrahim as the senatorial Candidate of Kwara South Senatorial District for the Saturday, February 16 elections.
Justice Babagana Ashigar in his judgement directed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to recognize Rafiu Ibrahim and include his name as a contestant.
INEC had recognized Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State as the candidate but the governor had indicated willingness to resign as the PDP candidate in the district.
Accordingly, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim replaces Gov. AbdulFatah Ahmed.
