Diddy arrested in New York amid sexual assault lawsuits
Sean “Diddy” Combs, the influential rap mogul, was arrested by federal agents in Manhattan late Monday following a sealed indictment from the Southern District of New York, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Damian Williams.
While the specific charges remain undisclosed, Williams said the indictment would be unsealed on Tuesday, offering more details.
Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, revealed that the rapper voluntarily returned to New York in anticipation of the charges, calling the prosecution “unjust.” Combs, facing multiple civil lawsuits that accuse him of sex trafficking, violent assaults, and drugging women, has consistently denied the allegations.
This arrest follows a March raid on Diddy’s Miami and Los Angeles homes by federal agents, signaling an escalating investigation into the once-revered music industry titan.

Though Combs had recently tried to rebrand himself as “Brother Love,” the mounting legal troubles paint a stark contrast to his public persona.
The string of lawsuits began with a bombshell accusation from singer Cassie, who alleged more than a decade of coercion, drug use, and physical abuse by Combs, including a 2018 rape.
Though that suit was quickly settled, more disturbing allegations surfaced, adding to a growing list of legal challenges for the artist.
Diddy, whose career began as a talent director at Uptown Records, went on to shape East Coast hip-hop, founding Bad Boy Records and collaborating with major artists like Mary J. Blige, The Notorious B.I.G., and Usher.
However, a history of violent accusations dating back to the 1990s has followed him, casting a long shadow over his storied career.
His legal team insists that Diddy remains cooperative and looks forward to clearing his name in court.
