Economic crisis: Ibadan residents protest high cost of living
Due to the soaring prices of foodstuff in the country, Ibadan was abuzz as protesters hit the streets of the ancient town on Monday morning.
The residents were also protesting against the bad state of the economy.
Protesters gathered around the Mokola area in the state wielding placards with various inscriptions such as ‘End food hike and inflation.
The poor are starving,’ and ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises,’ among others.
They were also chanting songs to show their grievances.

Armed policemen were seen at the protest scene even as protesters held the peaceful rally against the economic hardship in the land occasioned by the removal of the petrol subsidy.
Earlier, the Oyo State Police Command issued a warning against Monday’s planned protest.
