Gov Sani demands more support from TETFUND

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, during a visit to the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Arch. Sonny Ochono, on Monday, demanded more support from the Fund to Kaduna State.

The Governor in a statement, explained that the visit was part of the efforts to improve the educational system in Kaduna State through the forging of sustainable partnerships with Federal Government Agencies and Development Partners.

The governor identified three state institutions held is needed to enable them expand their programmes as well as cater to the rising number of students. The institutions include: the Kaduna State University (KASU), Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria and Federal College of Education, Gidan Waya, Kafanchan.

“In our efforts to improve the educational system in Kaduna State through the forging of sustainable partnerships with Federal Government Agencies and Development Partners, I paid a visit to the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Arch. Sonny Ochono.

“While commending the Executive Secretary for including Kaduna State in TETFUND interventions, I seized the opportunity to highlight some of the areas where we need more support and intervention in state owned institutions, Mention 3 of our institutions to enable them expand their programmes as well as cater to the rising number of students. Amongst the institutions are; the Kaduna State University (KASU), Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria and Federal College of Education, Gidan Waya, Kafanchan.

“The Executive Secretary commended the Kaduna State Government for prioritizing education and allocating a prime land to the TETFUND for their North West zonal office. He pledged his commitment to addressing some of the issues facing the Kaduna state owned institutions.

“I was joined at the meeting by the Honorable Commissioner of Education, Prof. Sani Bello and other senior officials of the Kaduna State Government.”
