Woman arraigned for N1.23 million fraud in Kaduna
A 40-year-old woman was arraigned before a Kaduna court on charges of fraud. She is accused of fraudulently converting N1.23 million belonging to her employer.
A 40-year-old woman, Stella Godwin, was arraigned before a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday on charges of fraud.
Godwin, a resident of Old Kamazo, Kaduna, pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
The prosecution, led by Insp Chidi Leo, accused Godwin of fraudulently converting N1.23 million belonging to her employer, Grace Multi Dynamic Investment Limited, to her personal use.
The alleged offense occurred between January and August in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna.
The prosecutor stated that Godwin’s actions violated Section 241 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, which carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment.

The court granted Godwin bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties were required to be gainfully employed and provide evidence of three years of tax payment to the Kaduna State Government.
The case was adjourned until October 9th for further hearing.
