Herdsmen kill five in Benue as Osinbajo departs
Fulani herdsmen struck in Ukemberagya district, near Anyiin, in Logo local government area of Benue State, killing five farmers, hours Vice President Yemi Osinbaho departed the State after his solidarity visit and disbursement of N10 billion for reconstruction of communities destroyed by the herdsmen killers.
It was gathered that Anyiin was the last Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited before returning to Abuja on Wednesday. It is also the country home of former Governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam.
A community leader was gathered to have narrated that the attackers who were armed with sophisticated weapons stormed the settlements in Ukemberagya at 6:30 a.m. and operated about three hours.
“They moved from one village to another, shot sporadically and razed houses,” he had said.
Persons killed in the invasion were indicated to include Bem Torjem, Apedzan Chia and Ikpuku Korya.
