Kidnappers on prowl in Lekki, other areas in Lagos
There have been growing cases of abduction along Ozumba Mbadiwe, Falomo and Admiralty way in recent time with many victims counting loses after being stripped of their earnings.
According to a twitter user with the handle @eonsintelligenc, several persons were allegedly abducted about 8pm on Tuesday night by gunmen operating along Admiralty Way, Lekki.
According to the report, one of d victims of the abduction disclosed she was pressed to the floor of the vehicle and driven round Lekki for about 3hrs before finally released after being dispossessed of her ATM cards, PIN and accounts emptied.
It said the abductors use unpainted taxis and in some cases, tinted SUVs, stressing the need for more police patrol in the affected areas to stem the growing tide.
Commenting on the report, other twitter users condemned the inability of the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to protect residents of the areas.
“Unfortunately we have a photographer for a Governor, busy taking photos showing off zero achievements with no significant impact. Yet the state is plunging into deep shit daily. Everywhere in Lagos is not safe. We probably might consider moving around with our own GUNS,” says one of the tweets.
