Male Menopause: The changes that take place in the body of a man as he gets older
Do you know that as a man ages, his body experiences certain changes? As a man gets older, his body goes through many changes, some of which can lead to something more serious if not addressed properly.
Men go through menopause in the same way as women do, but the terms aren’t interchangeable. In some cases, the correct word for male menopause is andropause, manopause, or male menopause. It involves a significant drop of the male hormone testosterone, just as it does in women. This hormone is responsible for the development of facial and body hair, a deep voice, and other male characteristics in men. So, in this post, we’ll look at some of the physical changes that occur in a man’s body as he grows older. Simply relax and take it all in.
What Are The Changes that Take Place In A man’s body?
The reduction of testosterone is accompanied by specific disturbances or issues that impact most men’s manly traits. According to research, testosterone levels begin to decline around the age of 30 and decrease by 10% every decade. When this occurs, males begin to lose possessions that they had when they were younger. The following are some of the more noticeable changes that occur in a man’s body as he grows older.
1. Low drive for intimacy; most men who have reached andropause lose interest in intimacy, even with their partners, as a result of a reduction or significant fall in testosterone.
2. Difficulties getting an erection, as well as maintaining an erection. Some men also discover that their erections are weaker and softer than they were previously. Because of the natural aging process, older men aged 50 and up often find it difficult to have genuine intimacy with their partners.
3. Lack of energy; testosterone is the driving force behind a guy’s vigor and manly features, but when it lowers, a man may experience a sudden lack of energy.
4. A rise in body fat
5. Muscle mass or strength loss. The male hormone has a big influence on muscle, but as a man approaches menopause, his muscular mass starts to decline.
6. Hot flashes are a common reaction of the body to hormonal changes. When males reach menopause, they experience symptoms that are similar to those experienced by women.
7. There’s also a good possibility you’ll acquire osteoporosis or other chronic health issues. Men are recommended to reduce their stress levels, eat nutritious foods, and exercise on a regular basis rather than maintaining a sedentary lifestyle.
