Nigeria beats Burkina Faso to win WAFU B U-17 championship in Ghana
Golden Eaglets of Nigeria on Friday defeated the Young Stallions of Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final of the WAFU B U-17 Championship at the Cape Coast Stadium, Ghana.
Nigeria goalkeeper, Richard Odoh, won the Man-of-the-Match recognition. Emmanuel Michael won the prize in three matches against Ghana, Togo and Cote d’Ivoire.
Forward Abubakar Abdullahi scored Golden Eaglets opening goal in the 22nd minute as he headed into the net a cross from Emmanuel Michael.
Burkina Faso equalized in the 32nd minute with a header from Abdulramane Ouedraogo
Abdullahi scored the second goal for Nigeria which became the decider two minutes into the second half, giving the Golden Eaglets the 2-1 victory.
