No excuse for your child not to be in school – Council Boss
Mr. Tijani Adetoyese Olusi, Lagos Island Local Government Chairman has equipped 6,350 pupils and 4,500 through the presentation of “My Complete Student Kits”,a programme targeted at lessening the burden of parents in giving qualitative education to their wards.
The Council Boss while delivering his welcome speech at the event noted that the easiest means to destroy a nation with grave import potent than atomic bomb is refusal educate the children, stating that no child of school age would be denied within his domain.
The youthful Olusi who is a biological son of the All Progressives Congress Apex leader in Lagos Central senatorial District Chief Tajudeen Olusi, disclosed the kits comprises; school uniforms,sandals,socks,Ouantitative and Verbal Reasoning text books,exercise books, and other writing materials are for the 6350 pupils in eleven public primary schools.
Adding that 4,500 students in six secondary all around the Lagos Island LGA will get Mathematical sets and Higher Notebooks.
He also hinted that the council has an operational Vocational Education Institute offering trainings in eleven technical skills,craft and trade competencies covering a wide spectrum: Plumbing and pipe fitting,Fashion Design, Bead Making, Computer Studies, Footwear, Upholstery,Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning,Hairdressing and Cosmetology,Catering and Hotel Management.

The initiative which in continuum was the 10th edition in the council, having been birthed by the former executive chairman now Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Hon. Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun, harps on the importance of massive investment in the children education to engender a functional future for the nation.
The Deputy Speaker who represented Senator Oluremi Tinubu at the forum, while delivering the keynote address hinge the proper mold of a future leader on the collective responsibility of the stakeholders.
According to him the fulfillment of a long time dream of the Lagos Central Senatorial District Senator is that every child have access to free education and can be sustained through such commitment as the one embarked on by the council boss.
Three teachers from different schools received motivational gifts for excellence in their duty in grooming the children.
Former Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adetoun Adediran,Chief Aro Lambo and the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Enforcement training Institute, Mr Wale Ojora representing the Attorney General of Lagos State Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, and other dignitaries all charge the recipients of the kits to make good use of it and view the provision as an avenue for them to seriously mold a glowing future for themselves.
