PDP leaders endorse Onolememen consensus senatorial candidate in Esan Northeast
Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Esan Northeast Local Government Area on Thursday nominated Arch. Mike Onolememen, former Minister of Works, the party’s senatorial consensus candidate for the 2023 general elections. The former minister was endorsed by the party leaders from the four aspirants jostling for the PDP senatorial ticket for Edo Central Senatorial District.
A PDP stakeholder had declared: “because we as a people cannot be separated in interest or divided in purpose, today, the 5th of May 2022, the most respected leaders of our great Party, PDP, in Esan Northeast LGA found it prudent to come together and elect their consensus candidate ahead of the PDP Senatorial primary election in Edo Central Senatorial District.
“The leaders of our Party so much hold dear to the unity and progress of Esan people. Because they wouldn’t want to see anything that will tamper with the peace we have enjoyed as a People, they came up with this decision that would further foster our peaceful coexistence. “During the consensus meeting, out the four Aspirants from Esan Northeast LGA who indicated interest to contest the PDP Senatorial primaries in Edo Central Senatorial District, Onolememen won the mock voting in the local government.”
