Plateau APC lawmakers endorse killings, pass vote of confidence on Gov Lalong
Lawmakers in the Plateau State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State may have covertly endorsed killings and destruction of property in the state as they unanimously passed vote of confidence on Governor Simon Bako Lalong on Tuesday, declaring support for the leadership of the Plateau governor and his pursuit for peace and security. However, people are dying from frequent attacks by gunmen.
The Majority Leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel, had moved the motion, and was seconded by Philip Dasun, Chairman, House Committee on Information.
The Plateau APC lawmakers, however, commiserated with the Government and people of the State over recent attacks and the loss of lives and properties in the state; issues that show leadership failure for which residents of Plateau State are agitating that Governor Lalong should step down.
The lawmaker, subsequently, praised Governor Lalong for his doggedness in handling the situation and restoring normalcy.
Plateau State has been under the siege of bandits and Fulani militia, where several innocent unarmed citizens are being sent to their early graves.
