Police allege Boko Haram plans to infiltrate planned nationwide protest
The Yobe State Police Command said Boko Haram terrorists were allegedly planning on infiltrating the planned ten-day nationwide protest in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim disclosed this over the weekend in Damaturu, the state capital.
According Abdulkarim, intelligence report indicated that foreign mercenaries were engaged to destroy lives and property during the planned protest.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the command’s spokesperson called on individuals planning to participate in the protest to exercise caution.
He said: “As Yobe state recovers from insurgency, the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, acknowledges citizens’ constitutional rights to peaceful assembly.
