Police detains popular car dealer, IVD over wife’s suspicious death
Popular car dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, better known as IVD has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command following the suspicious circumstances of his wife’s death
The wife of IVD, Abimbola, had over the weekend been pronounced dead after suffering severe burns during an alleged violent incident at their residence in Megamound estate, Lekki, Lagos.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this in a tweet on Monday, noting that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba.

“Contrary to claims by family and friends that 37-year-old Ikechukwu Ogbonna aka IVD is on the run, he has been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba,” he said.
According to reports, Bimbo had confronted IVD on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, over the constant beatings she received, and a fight ensued.
The fight resulted in their house being set ablaze.
IVD was said to have escaped with minor burns while Bimbo suffered severe burns and was rushed to the intensive care unit.
