Policeman shot in Lagos, rifle stolen
A police officer attached to Access Bank in Coker-Aguda, Surulere area of Lagos has been killed and his rifle stolen by yet to be identified gunmen.
The ugly incident which occurred on Wednesday afternoon around cassette bus stop, threw the entire area into confusion as businesses were forced to close.
A reliable source said the Police officer was returning to the bank when the gunmen in Marwa suddenly appeared and shot him in the neck at close range.
The victim, who was first taken to Randle General Hospital, was turned back before he was later rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Idi-Araba, Mushin where he was confirmed dead.

Lagos State Police Command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
Hundeyin said investigation was on to apprehend the killers.
While declining to give the name of the slain officer, Hundeyin said the Command needs to inform his family first before announcing it to the public.
