Population of Nigerian students in U.S increases by 12.3% – Report
The 2022 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange in a statement on Monday revealed that the population of Nigerian students in universities in the United States of America increased by 14,438, that is 12.3%. in 2022.
The report disclosed that new international student enrollment in the United States also rebounded and increased by 80%, making the total number of international students enrolled in U.S. institutions rise by 4%.
The report indicated that the United States remains the destination of choice in higher education across the world with over 948,000 international students.
The Open Doors Report revealed that more students seek admission in US from Nigeria, making the country the leading source of students from Africa and the 10th largest country worldwide sending international students to the United States
