Presidency 2023: Tinubu lobbies APC senators
The national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, extended his consultation to APC Senators in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Tinubu, a presidential aspirant on the APC platform, told the senators he came to request their counsel, partnership, and support for his presidential ambition.
The former Lagos State governor lobbied the senators to support his presidential ambition, saying he cannot do it by himself when the elections are conducted in February 2023.
Tinubu told the senators that he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his presidential ambition.
The APC national leader begged the senators to support to secure the APC ticket to succeed President Buhari as the next president.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, in response noted that the APC Senate caucus is a major pillar in the party and has shown loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the party.
Lawan assured Tinubu that in the course of fighting for the unity of the party, the lawmakers are with him.
