Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has reciprocated the honour done to him by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar after the national convention of the Peoples Democratic (PDP) for the election of the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 election. Atiku, who won the PDP ticket at the convention, had visited Wike at his Abuja residence immediately after the convention to commend the courage of the Rivers governor in the battle for the PDP presidential ticket.
Governor Wike also on Thursday visited Atiku, the PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections, with some PDP leaders.
The Rivers Governor had in the build up to the PDP convention, engaged in mobilization for the unity of the party to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023. Governor Wike repeatedly promised that he will support whosoever emerges as the PDP presidential candidate at the party primary.
Atiku on his official twitter handle, Atiku Abubakar @atiku wrote on Thursday: “It was a pleasure to receive His Excellency Nyesom Wike in the company of notable leaders and officials of our great party, @OfficialPDPNig, at my residence today.”
