Stakeholders accuse Gov. Lalong of subtly getting desperate for APC Campaign D.G. appointment, as he blasts opponents of Muslim-Muslim ticket
Some stakeholders in the country are beginning to accuse Governor Lalong of Plateau State of subtly becoming desperate for his appointment as the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign which is widely challenged by those opposed to the Muslim-Muslim joint ticket of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and Kassim Shettima in the APC. The stakeholders who spoke on the condition of anonymity, emphasized that the governor has been taking the issue beyond a normal public debate and chastising the opponents of Muslim-Muslim joint ticket of the APC as though the Muslim-Muslim ticket perfectly promotes fairness, equity, and national interest in the country. They were of the view that the governor is putting up weak defense in trying to protect his decision on the sensitive national issue.
Governor Lalong who had earlier stated that as a holder of a high-profile award of a Knight in the Catholic Church, the Pope has not told him he has done anything wrong in accepting the APC D.G. appointment, has further blasted those discouraging him from accepting the D.G. appointment.
The governor was cited to have declared: “If you lost out in your aspiration to become vice presidential candidate, don’t use me to settle scores, I don’t do anti-party activities….”
Some have, however, noted that this may, perhaps, be Governor Lalong’s way of showing party loyalty.
