Super Tucano wreaks havoc on ISWAP leadership; group re-strategizes
As Super Tucano aircraft and other military raids deplete their command structure, the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) is replacement for key leaders taken out I the military operatios.
The military has been targeting ISWAP infrastructure, armouries and camps in Marte and Abadam in Borno, and other areas around Lake Chad for weeks.
According to PRNigeria, a meeting at the weekend presided over by ISWAP leader, Sani Shuwaram . and was attended by members of the Shura Council.
Unit heads from the Garal, Kayowa, Tumbum Murhu, Kurnawa, Chikun Gudu, Tumbumma, Kwalaram, Kirta, Wulgo, Jubularam were also present.
Among the newly appointed commanders now are Abubakar Dan-Buduma, who will take charge of Bakassi Buningil and Doron Buhari; and Muhammed Ba’ana who now heads Kirta.
Mohamet Aliamir will head operations at Kwalaram, Bakura Gana to supervise Jubularam; Malam Musa assigned to Jubularam, and Mohamadu Mustapha for Marte.
The federal troops have recording successes in many of their operations, including Hadin Kan, against the terrorists.
