NAF : Commander targets social activities to foster unity, boost personnel morale
Commodore Ali Idris announced plans to organize more social activities in 2025 to strengthen unity among Nigerian Air Force personnel, emphasizing the importance of camaraderie, mental well-being, and honoring veterans.
Commodore Ali Idris, Commander of the 115 Special Operations Group at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) base in Port Harcourt, has announced plans to organize additional social activities in 2025 to promote unity and strengthen relationships among NAF personnel.
Speaking during the 2024 Base Annual Socio-Cultural Activities (BASA) celebration in Port Harcourt, Commodore Idris expressed confidence that these upcoming events would help foster camaraderie not only among the officers and soldiers but also between their families and the base community.
He stated, “These social activities will serve as a unifying platform for all of us to come together to celebrate, reflect, and strengthen the cohesion between us and the base community.”
The commander emphasized that these events would offer personnel a chance to relax, recharge, and reconnect with their colleagues, friends, and loved ones in an informal setting.

He noted that social activities, such as BASA, were important for mental and emotional well-being, nurturing teamwork and resilience within the force.
Idris also mentioned that the activities would include honoring veterans who had made significant contributions to the Nigerian Air Force’s achievements.
The commander commended the dedication of his officers and soldiers in tackling security challenges and in the efforts to reduce crime across Rivers State throughout 2024.
