•  Seek intervention of Presidency

THE Niger Delta People Salvation Front (NDSF) and the Niger Delta People Volunteer Force (NDPVF) and the week end raised alarm over what they considered the activities of the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi in aiding murderous and assassin foot soldiers in Rivers State. The Niger Delta People Volunteer Force (NDPVF) is historically led by Alhaji Mujaheed Asari-Dokubo.

The group in a statement by Comrade Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro, Spokesperson of the Niger Delta People Salvation Front cum Niger Delta People Volunteer Force (NDPSF/NDPVF), solicited the urgent intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari to call Amaechi to order so as to avert anarchy the state.

Anighoro decried that the criminal activities of Dawari George and Flag Ojukaye Amachree may turn Rivers State into a theater of the absurd if urgent steps are not taken to call them to order and administer justice on them.

“It is a known fact that Dawari George, through the gang working at his command, murdered the 91 Year old Pa Gabriel Amachree when bullets from his killing nest hit Pa Gabriel Amachree as they hijacked election materials in Buguma during the Rivers State Rerun elections,” Anighoro said.

The NDPSF/NDPVF spokesperson further said that “Flag Ojukaye Amachree, working for Ameachi and the All Progressive Congress (APC), did hit and murdered in Abalama a member of the Peace Corps identified as Tamuno Beeson with his car as he made to run away with hijacked election materials. Presently his driver has made useful statement to the Police and the vehicle impounded.”

Anighoro lamented that, “despite these disturbing perpetuation of electoral violence and heist by Dawari George and Flag Ojukaye Amachree, they have become more emboldened because they still walk freely, duly shielded from the law by Rotimi Ameachi.”

He alleged that, “currently, Dawari George and Flag Ojukaye Amachree are engaged in issuing messages of threat to supporters of Boma Goodhead and have clearly boasted of his capacity and intention to incapacitate Boma Goodhead by every means necessary.”
Anighoro narrated that Boma Goodhead is a member of the Niger Delta People Salvation Front and the Flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) contesting to represent Akuku Toru and Asari Toru Federal Constituency of Rivers State at the House of Representatives. He observed that she is currently leading the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dawari George, with over 30,000 votes, which are already collated and declared at the collation centre of Akuku Toru Local Government Area in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

Anighoro contended that with 42,000 votes in Asari-Toru Local Government Area left undetermined, and Dawari George having lost Akuku-Toru Local Government Area with over 30,000 votes, very desperate measures are now being deployed to intimidate and coerce voters. “Dawari George had tried but failed to rig Asari Toru Local Government Area all costs, hijacking materials, killing two people and maiming many, thereby, causing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the Elections in the area,” he alleged. “We at the Niger Delta People Salvation Front cum the Niger Delta People Volunteer Force (NDPSF/NDPVF) do wish to state that while it is consistent with the character of politicians to be noisy and boastful in their bidding to appeal and court the attention of people, we, however, consider it totally unacceptable to engage in threat to lives of innocent people, Anighoro declared. He admonished: “the threat by Dawari George to incapacitate Boma Goodhead by every means necessary, as well as intimidate the supporters and people of Buguma, will not be taken for granted by us, Let it be known that we have the capacity to protect our members and would fully do so. The two murders by Dawari George and Flag Ojukaye Amachree of the APC are too material for us to dismiss.”

“May we, therefore, put the security agencies on notice that the continued gangsterism of Rotimi Ameachi-protected Dawari George and Flag Amachree will leave sour and bitter taste in the mouths of all,” he maintained, adding, “we deamnd President Muhammadu Buhari to call his Minister, Rotimi Ameachi, and his nest of killers to order. We demand immediate prosecution of Dawari George and Flag Amachree over the senseless killings of Innocent citizens in Buguma, Asari -Toru Local Government Area.” The groups cautioned that “those igniting violence and subverting free and fair elections, yet they claim change, must know that there is a place called Waterloo.”
