Edo Guber: Obaseki’s running mate tasks electorate on voting continuity

HON. Philip Shuaibu, running mate to Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress has tasked the electorate to vote for the party to ensure continuity in infrastructural development across the state.

Hon. Shuaibu made the call while fielding questions from newsmen in his hometown yesterday at Uzarue, Edo North Local Government Area of Edo State.

Shuaibu said voting for the People’s Democratic Party’s candidates is an attempt to take the state backward to its dark era before the present administration came to its rescue.

“The issue is for us to choose between continuing with the foundation of development that the Comrade Governor has laid or to return to Egypt, the era of PDP where development was not an issue, where share the money was the language that was being preached.

“Those are the two issues. First whether we should go back to PDP era where it was share the money, no development, where our infrastructure was completely ran down and destroyed or government that has decided, in a vision to develop Edo State through infrastructure, making erosion history, putting education where it belongs and making an Edo child has a very good school where he can learn and become great in the future, and continuity in that development, is what we stand for”, he said.

Shuaibu said from all indications and from the massive turnout of party faithful at the rally held in Edo North, showed that the people are truly in support of the APC led administration and are poised to extend same through their votes by voting Mr. Godwin Obaseki for Governor and himself as his running mate, come September 10.

The Lawmaker, while reacting to the comment made by Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu on alleged lip service paid on sport by the present administration, noted that the present administration has done much in developing sporting activities in the state though it is not yet uhuru stressing that if successive administrations had done what the present government has done, there would not have been much problem.

“I am happy that Ize-Iyamu is now trying to go to issues but unfortunately, Afuze School that he is talking about was rundown by his administration. He supervised the running down of the institution and the Comrade Governor, has taken it to the level it is now and by the Grace of God, that institution would be affiliated to one of the universities, in fact, in due course, that place will be a college of education. We are moving from one step to another”, he noted.
