The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has began moves aimed at ensuring the Super Eagles get maximum support when they play host to the Pharaohs of Egypt in next
month’s AFCON 2017 qualifier at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

Hint to this effect was dropped yesterday by President of the soccer federation, Amaju Pinnick in an exclusive chat with journalists.

Pinnick disclosed that the NFF has already started mobilising the Kaduna soccer fans, ahead of the crucial match which the Eagles must win to keep qualification hopes alive.

In Pinnick’s words: “I know the Eagles will get total support in Kaduna when Egypt come calling. The fact that we are playing in Kaduna is a huge advantage. It is a venue that you are sure the fans will get behind you right from the very first blast of the referee’s whistle. As we speak, we have started mobilizing the fans. We want them to double their support for the team on that day. We want a situation where the entire arena will be painted green and white. We want a full house, we are already working towards this. God willing, all will be fine in spite of the CHAN 2016 setback.”

The NFF boss said the soccer federation will leave no stone unturned in the build up to the all-important clash, even as he urged Nigerians to support the team with prayers.

The Eagles would three days after hosting Egypt in Kaduna travel to Cairo for the second leg of the double header which would no doubt determine the country that picks the
sole ticket of the group for the Gabon 2017 Nations Cup.

Egypt would enter the Kaduna game as group leaders.

Although tied on points with Nigeria, the Pharaohs have a superior goals difference.
