2023: Details of Tinubu’s meeting with Obasanjo emerges
Details of the outcome of the meeting between presidential candidate of the All Progressives, Bola Tinubu and former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo have been leaked despite efforts to keep the outcome of the meeting from the prying eyes of the media.
It would be recalled that the former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday visited Obasanjo to discuss his chances in the 2023 presidential election, and also to seek the support of the former president.
According to a reliable source, Tinubu who visited the former president in Abeokuta with a retinue of top leaders, including the former governor of Ogun state, Chief Segun Osoba and other traditional leaders discussed extensively over his presidential ambition and other sundry issues affecting the country.
The source shrieked, “It was exactly what occurred to former President Jonathan in 2015, Baba refused to accept Tinubu. Segun Osoba negotiated the terms of Tinubu’s visit with the former President. Like he did in 2015 with Jonathan, Obasanjo only reluctantly accepted them. He always acts in like manner when he opposes someone’s ambition’’

“Baba told him that he ought not to be in the race due to the bad performance of APC and because it is vital to be fair to the east for equality and all inclusion.”
As at 1:09 p.m., Tinubu and a few other party leaders flew into the Penthouse of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Oke-Mosan, the capital of Ogun State, Abeokuta.Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Gbenga Daniel, Segun Osoba, and other Ogun State government officials welcomed him.
