2,750 APC members join PDP
No fewer than 2,750 supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State’s Gagarawa and Kazaure local councils have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Council Chairman, Babandi Gumel, welcomed the defectors at a PDP rally in Gagarawa, describing the APC as a party of deception with a failed mission, whose lack of focus has thrown the country into serious confusion.
He cited insecurity, corruption, poverty, and unemployment as major areas where the party failed the country due to a lack of governance capacity.
Gumel called on the defectors to be dedicated in promoting the good ideals of PDP in its quest to wrest the mantle of leadership from APC.
“We, in the PDP, have a formidable structure and mechanism on how best to move the country forward, based on our good principles and ideology, which we are confident are far above the thinking of the leaders of APC,” he said.
