Ramadan: Lagos Lawmaker seeks citizens cooperation, support for Tinubu
The lawmaker representing Ikeja constituency 2 at Lagos State House of Assembly Hon. Adedamola Kasunmu, has called for more cooperation and support from Nigerians for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to succeed.
Kasunmu the Deputy Majority Leader of the house made this plea for cooperation, at the second edition of Alhaja Abibat Mogaji’s Ramadan Lecture 2024 held on Thursday at the Eko FM Marquee,Agidingbi,Lagos.
He pleaded with stakeholders in the economy to review their prices even as things improves due to governments concerted efforts.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working in a very steadfast way to make sure that he stays committed to the work that he campaigned and the people voted him for.
“As you can see that within the few months of him being in office he has been able to achieve something good in terms of good governance.
“Dollar is gradually going down and Naira is picking up but the prices of goods are not going down, this is something that has to come out from the people as well, because they have to cooperate with the government in their efforts to be able to benefit the general public.
“If you have the Dollar coming down and the prices of goods and services going up then it is counter productive.
“It doesn’t speak well of what the administration is trying to do in terms of good governance and policies to make our country a better place to be. Nigeria is a very hopeful nation, a land of many opportunities if put into perspective.
“I believe with cooperation from the top to the bottom, across all boards and tiers of governments we would make things happen.”
Stating the reason why the lecture was in the honour of his late grand mother, Kasumnu said,“The idea is to continue where we’ve started, remembering the good deeds of our dear matriarch-Alhaja Abibat Mogaji who lived an exemplary live as well as that of his late mother Chief (Mrs.) Arafat Abiodun Kasunmu and his political mother Chief (Mrs.) olukemi Nelson.

“She lived a live of impact one that birthed the likes of current President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, myself and many more who lived and grow under her tutelage. We are giving honour to God almighty in her name that he will remember every good deeds of her’s while alive as an act of Ibadah.”

“The economic situation we are facing is a global one, it is a storm that will soon be over as the government is taking pragmatic steps to address it via social and agric interventions, however individual players in the economy should be mindful of the situation and perform their duties even as government does theirs.
