4 evil spirits arm-twist Minna residents; victims forfeit millions of naira
The Niger State Police Command has arrested four evils spirits that scared money out of locals at Shango, Minna.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said on Tuesday, the fraudster behind the scheme last wormed out N1.3 million from a victim
Aliyu Mohammed (Ali Kanka) 48, Muazu Mohammed 52yrs both ‘m’ of Kontagora, Shehu Abubakar, 35,and Isyaku Ahmadu,45, of Maikunkele, Bosso have all been arrested.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects made a phone call and lured a victim who resides at Sauka-Kahuta Minna, informing him that the caller is a spirit (Aljannu) and ordered the victim to open a bank account, get a new sim card and drop the account details with the sim card at a location in Minna for the victim to get financial assistance from the spirits,” he said
“The suspects subsequently use the account details to defraud another victim from building materials market of the sum of 1.3 million naira through a fraudulent business transaction.
“All suspects will be arraigned in court for diligent prosecution immediately after investigation is concluded,”
Commissioner of Police Monday Bala Kuryas has reassured citizens of the command readiness to secure the state.
But he warned them to avoid falling for unrealistic returns on investments.
