Rapist demands baby born from victim in Delta

Claim by a suspected rapist as the father over a newborn baby from the alleged victim in Uzere Community, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday sparked of trouble in the area.
It was reliably gathered that the new born baby, a baby boy was allegedly delivered under after the said rape incident and which by the tradition of the community is unlawful and an abomination.
The mother of the baby (name withheld) was allegedly ambushed and raped by the suspect on her way to the farm, and was later discovered to be pregnant.
It was further gathered that the girl in her early 20s, suffered emotional trauma of being raped and severe injuries sustained in the process before she was delivered of the baby boy.
Meanwhile, family of the suspect on Monday reportedly made the attempt take custody of the baby reportedly delivered two weeks ago, but their efforts met a brick wall when the family of the victim allegedly threatened to make it a police case.
Speaking to our correspondent, mother of the suspected rapist, Mrs. Eunice Ogbodor, said “My son said it was both agreement and they made love on her way to the farm, since then it has been war, we begged, they refused”.
In a similar development, a female student of the state owned Polytechnic Ozoro (Name withheld) was allegedly raped by notorious criminals in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of the State.
She was said to have been attacked and allegedly raped by the hoodlums while on a motorcycle and the bike man escaped on a head breath.
Speaking on the incident, the police image maker in the state, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, said the suspect who claimed to be the father of the newborn baby took to his heels, when he got wind of the police invitation.
She said “the police are still investigating the alleged rape, and we will ensure the suspect is brought to book”.
