8 Things you should do often to keep your bladder healthy
The bladder is a round, bag-like organ that helps in the storage of urine. It is positioned in the pelvic area, just beneath the kidneys and right behind the pelvic bone. While it is a fleshy storage tank, it is made up of multiple parts.
The bladder is connected to the kidneys by two long tubes known as the ureters. When urine production takes place in the kidneys, it moves to the ureters then to the bladder, where it is stored.
Some of the things you should do to keep your bladder healthy include.
1. Consume enough amount of fluids
Most healthy people should try to consume 6 to 8-ounce glasses of fluid particularly water every day. Water is the best fluid for the enhancement of your bladder health.
2 Limit alcohol and caffeine
Lessen your alcohol and caffeinated foods and drinks intake.
3. Quit smoking
If you do smoke excessively, it is healthy to quit, and if you don’t smoke, don’t start.
4. Avoid constipation
Consuming a high amount of fiber foods such as whole grains, vegetables, and fruits can assist ward off constipation.
5. Keep a healthy weight
Choose healthy foods to help you maintain a healthy weight.
6. Exercise always
Physical exercise can assist prevent bladder issues, as well as constipation. It can also assist in maintaining a healthy weight.
7. Try to fully empty the bladder when urinating.
8. Urinate after intimacy
Both women and men should pass out urine shortly after having intercourse to flush away bacteria that may have entered the urethra during intimacy.
