I am happy my club escape relegation — Sylvester Igboun
WHAT is your football plans for 2016?
I just want to be better than last year. I also want to contribute more to the success of my team and country.
Are you still with the overseas Eagles?
Yes, I am still with them.
How long have you been playing football?
I have been playing since I was young. I have always loved football but I started playing professional league football 14 years ago, and it has been wonderful.
What country are you still playing for?
I play in Russia and the name of is Football club UFA
Why did you organize the game with your friends at Agege Stadium?
I organized the game because it brought my friends in different countries back for us to be together and share our experience with the home-based players. We showed our fans back home in Nigeria who love to see us play again.
Can you bet it was a success?
Yes, it was because everything went fine. We were all happy and the Academy we played against was happy to play with us. The fans who came to watch us enjoyed the game and there was no problem.
How were you discovered?
Coach Bello Abubakar discovered me, during a fight back in the days. I thank him and others who helped me to stick to what I know how to do best.
How was this year transfer window?
I am confident our side can escape and avoid relegation especially if we can get a few players during this transfer window. We have a new coach now and he’s been doing well and there’s a very good chance he can help us stay in the top flight. The league resumes in February and UFA welcomes Ahmed Musa’s CSKA Moskva.
