Buhari’s social media assistant to become INEC commissioner
One of the Twitter handlers of President Muhammadu Buhari has been nominated as INEC’s commissioner.
Lauretta Onoche, from Delta, is among the five nominees Buhari sent to the Senate for nomination on Tuesday.
According to Senate President Ahmad Lawan who read the letter of nomination, Prof. Muhaamad Sani from Katsina, Kunle Cornelius Ajayi from Ekiti, and Seidu Ahmad from Jigawa are also among the nominees.
Onoche has been handling Buharis social media activities, which largely involving siccing opposition and other critics, since 2015.
She has racked up a multibillion-naira legal suit by PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, in the course of carrying out her job.
