COVID-19: Lagos Assembly Muslim Community lifts suspension on Jumat service
The Lagos State House of Assembly has lifted the suspension on Jumu’a Service after a week having complied with precautionary measures.
The reversion was communicated via a press statement made available to newsmen by the League of Imams, Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community.
It state clearly that having put in place basic measures to stem the spread of the deadly virus, the body perceived it safer for the community to congregate as they used to in time past.
They therefore lifted the suspension having completed the sanitation exercise in the mosque.
According to the League of Imams, all Muslim brothers and sisters who will be coming for jumu’a prayers should henceforth adhere strictly to government guidelines on safety protocols.
“The Muslim Community enjoins all Muslim faithfuls to follow guidelines by putting on face masks while the mosque has provided temperature check points, sanitizers, functional hand wash basins with soap and enough water for ablution.
” Any attendee without a face mask will not be allowed into the mosque.”
The Imams also stated that the mosque would be opened for Jumu’a today Friday, 22nd January, 2021 by 1pm.
While commending the State Government’s efforts to quell the spread of the deadly virus, the community also lauded the periodic sensitisation updates on the Covid-19 pandemic as well as putting necessary precautionary measures in place to curtail it.
