3 Power blocs that may determine the next national chairman of APC
Interestingly, since former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomole and his members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were outrageously removed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling party, the party is having hope of choosing another National Chairman and other members of NWC, any time soon.
Considerably, there are about three power blocs within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) that may want to influence who may, probably, become the next National Chairman of the ruling Party.
Firstly, the political influence of the APC Governors’ Forum could not be overemphasized, in the political power play that may want to be deployed in the course of choosing, most interestingly, the next National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Sincerely, the fact that State Governors are being recognised as leaders and major financiers of the political party at the state level may, definitely, justify the reason APC Governors’ Forum may want to keenly develop interest in who becomes the next National Chairman of the party.
The presence of the APC State Governors in the Caretaker Committee set up to control the activities of the party after Comrade Adam Oshiomole was removed from office may, definitely, give the governors upper edge in the course of choosing the next National Chairman of the ruling party.
Secondly, the agitation for political powers and recognition by all the six geopolitical zones of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is another power bloc that may, possibly, have influence in deciding the next National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Interestingly, some politicians under the aegis of APC Patriotic Ambassadors of Nigeria (APAN) have tendered their demand that the National Chairman of the ruling party should be, considerably, micro-zoned to the North Central geopolitical zone. Possibly, other geopolitical zones my later emulate APAN and make request for the rotation of the APC National Chairmanship position.
Thirdly, the influence of the defunct political parties that came together to form All Progressives Congress (APC) should be considered as another power bloc that may, interestingly, influence the emergence of the next National Chairman o the ruling party.
Mostly, the political interests of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and the Congress for Progressive Change (APC) may, sincerely, take positions in the course of determining who may become the next National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
