The All Progressives Congress (APC) sells the party governorship nomination forms a N22.5 million for the isolated elections in Ekiti and Osun states, respectively. The National Secretary of APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), John Akpanudode, in the timetable and schedule of activities for the elections released on Monday, indicated that the N22.5 million is for the nomination and expression of interest forms for aspirants for the respective APC governorship ticket for the elections in Ekiti and Osun states.

The breakdown of the cost indicated N20 million is the cost of the APC nomination form, while N2.5 million is for the expression of interest form.

The APC reduced the cost of the forms by 50% for female and physically challenged aspirants. The party declared: “However, female aspirants and physically challenged aspirants are to pay 50% of the prescribed fees.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had scheduled Ekiti State governorship election to hold on June 18, while the Osun election is scheduled for July 16, 2022.

The payment of the N22.5 million for the governorship nomination form is not a guarantee of getting the ticket. The APC was, however, silent on what happens to the N22.5 million after an aspirant does not get the ticket.
